Easy homemade yellow cake mix recipe. This cake mix will take the place of a 15.25 ounce box of yellow cake mix. While this Homemade Cake Mix is perfect for a 13×9 cake, it can also be used anytime you have a recipe that calls for a recipe with cake mix – cake mix cookies, or even cake mix brownies. Seriously, it’s one of my favorite homemade mixes.

Dry Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cups granulated sugar
1¼ t baking powder
½ t baking soda
½ t salt

Wet Ingredients:
¾ cup milk, or buttermilk
½ cup oil, vegetable or canola
2 large eggs, room temperature
1½ t vanilla extract

To Make Cake Mix:
In a medium bowl, combine all dry ingredients. (2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 cups granulated sugar, 1¼ t baking powder, ½ t baking soda, ½ t salt). Store in jar with lid, or airtight container

To Make a 13×9 Cake or 24 Cupcakes (2 9-inch round baking pans):
Combine cake mix and wet ingredients until well combined. (¾ cup milk or buttermilk, ½ cup oil, 2 large eggs, 1½ t vanilla extract). Pour batter into greased 13×9 pan or divide into cupcake liners. Or if desired, pour into two 9-inch round baking pans. Bake cake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Bake cupcakes at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. For the two 9-inch round baking pans, 20-25 minutes. Cool completely and frost as desired

Chocolate Cake: Add cocoa powder to you desired degree of chocolate taste!
Spice cake: Add 1.5 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice to the flour.
Confetti cake: Add 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles to the finished cake mix.
Almond cake: Decrease the vanilla to 1/2 teaspoon. Add 1 teaspoon almond extract along with the vanilla.
