Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound mushrooms, sliced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions:
Step 1: Sauté the Aromatics:
In a large pot, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and sauté for another minute.
Step 2: Cook the Mushrooms:
Add the sliced mushrooms to the pot and cook until they release their juices and begin to brown, about 8-10 minutes.
Step 3: Make the Base:
