This homemade adobo seasoning is a perfect blend of herbs and spices that will become one of your go-to seasonings. This recipe only takes 5 minutes to make and has 7 ingredients!
Ingredients:
1 T smoked paprika
2 t black pepper
1½ t onion powder
1½ t oregano
1½ t cumin
1 t garlic powder
1 t chili powder, (or chipotle powder)
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a small, air-tight jar. Shake to combine. Store in a cool, dry place with your normal spices.
Notes:
– Here are a few tips for making a well balanced, flavorsome Adobo seasoning:
– I prefer using ground garlic powder in my spice mixes. It has a stronger garlic taste than granulated garlic, but feel free to use it if you have granulated or not.
– If you want it a bit spicy, opt for the spicier chipotle powder instead of chili powder. If you don’t have it on hand, try cayenne powder.
– If you can get your hands on Mexican oregano, use it instead of regular oregano for authentic Mexican flavor.
