Everything comes together in under 15 minutes, making it an ideal dish for busy schedules or quick weeknight dinners. Soy sauce and a hint of lemon brighten the flavors, while optional sesame and parsley add freshness. For a hearty meal, serve over rice, pasta, or cauliflower rice. With minimal prep and simple steps, this flavorful combination is sure to become a kitchen favorite. This Garlic Butter Chicken and Broccoli is my go-to for those nights when I only have fifteen minutes but want something full of flavor and nutrition. Tender bites of chicken seared golden in garlic butter mingle with just-crisp broccoli in a silky pan sauce that tastes indulgent but comes together in one pan. It is my favorite speedy meal to whip up after a long workday or when friends drop in with little warning.

Ingredient Substitutions:
If you do not have fresh broccoli you can use frozen but steam it separately so it does not water down the sauce. Chicken thighs make a juicier substitute for breasts just trim and cut them the same way. For a dairy free version I sometimes use more olive oil or a vegan butter substitute which still gives the sauce a silky finish.

Serving Suggestions:
This chicken and broccoli is perfect on its own for a low carb meal but it also pairs beautifully over fluffy jasmine rice buttery noodles or even mashed potatoes for extra comfort. For a lighter side serve it with a crisp Asian inspired slaw or a big green salad.

Ingredients:
Chicken and Vegetables:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 cups fresh broccoli florets
Sauce and Seasonings:
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Garnishes:
1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (optional)

Directions:
Sear Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is golden and thoroughly cooked. Remove chicken from pan and set aside.
Steam Broccoli: In the same skillet, add 1/4 cup water and broccoli florets. Cover and steam for 2-3 minutes until broccoli is bright green and crisp-tender. Discard excess water.
Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce: Reduce heat to medium-low and melt butter in the pan. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until aromatic.
Incorporate Sauce Flavors: Add soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes if desired. Stir to fully combine.
Combine Chicken with Sauce: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in garlic butter sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes to infuse flavors.
Finish with Broccoli: Gently fold in steamed broccoli until evenly mixed and well-coated with sauce.
Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped parsley, if using. Serve warm as is or with rice, pasta, or cauliflower rice.
