Country Garlic Bacon Green Beans sauteed in bacon drippings and butter – an easy and delicious way to prepare the green beans for the southern table! A meal staple in the south, it goes with fish fries, chicken, and BBQs!

Ingredients:
8 slices bacon diced
1 medium onion, chopped
5 cloves garlic, minced
3-4 mushrooms, diced
2 lbs frozen cut green beans, thawed
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning, Optional
2 tablespoons butter
Soy Sauce, as needed
Garlic and Onion powder, to taste
Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions:
In a large skillet or deep frying pan, cook the bacon until almost completely browned. Add the onion and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Turn heat to low and add garlic; cook for 30 seconds. Reserve the bacon grease.
Add the green beans, and sauté for several minutes, until they soften to your liking. While the green beans are cooking, add the Cajun seasoning, if using. Add the other seasonings to your liking, and continue to sauté the green beans, adding a few dashes of soy sauce here and there. Go easy on the additional salt, the soy sauce will have plenty. When the green beans have reached your desired tenderness, the onions are grilled through, mushrooms are soft, and so on the beans are done! This is a very forgiving dish, and can be made with more firm veggies, or softer if you prefer! Add butter, stir, and serve. If needed, season with salt and black pepper to taste.
