Your friends and family will love this easy semi-homemade strawberry sweet rolls recipe! You only need to whip up a quick strawberry sauce and bake up some store-bought crescent rolls!
Ingredients:
1 package 12 crescent roll dough
4 ounces whipped cream cheese
Strawberry Sauce:
2 cups chopped strawberries
1/4 cup graduated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
Make the strawberry sauce. In a small saucepan, chopped strawberries, lemon juice, sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat using a whisk until the sauce is thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
Roll out the crescent roll dough into two rectangles. Spread cream cheese onto the dough and roll the dough.
Cut the crescent dough into rolls. Place the rolls 1 inch apart on a prepared baking sheet or pie pan.
Prepare egg wash and brush it over the rolls. You can also brush a tablespoon of melted butter over the top for a richer flavor.
Bake according to the instructions on the crescent roll container or until the rolls are a golden brown color.
Remove from the oven and let cool. Prepare the glaze. Drizzle strawberry sauce and glaze over the rolls.
