Jalapeño Popper Stuffed Rolls with Bacon are a delightful twist on the classic jalapeño popper, transforming it into a savory, spicy bread roll that’s perfect for any gathering. This innovative recipe encapsulates the creamy, spicy filling of jalapeño poppers—complete with crispy bacon pieces—inside a soft, fluffy bread roll. The combination of spicy jalapeños, rich cream cheese, sharp cheddar, and savory bacon wrapped in a golden-brown crust makes these rolls irresistible.
Ingredients:
1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2-3 jalapeños, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
4 slices of bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
Salt and pepper to taste
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Optional: 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing
Instructions:
Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, and crumbled bacon. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Divide the pizza dough into 12 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a circle, place a spoonful of the filling in the center, and then bring the edges together, pinching to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg to ensure a golden crust. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden and sound hollow when tapped. Let the rolls cool slightly on a wire rack before serving. Optional: Brush with melted butter for a rich finish.
