This easy orange sauce is similar to a popular Asian dipping sauce for spring rolls. However, it’s spiked with the warm, complex flavors of cinnamon and cumin, and can be made mild or spicy to suit your tastes. Enjoy it as a marinade, make it into a special soy-free sauce for stir fries and rice bowls, or go traditional and use it as a dipping sauce for spring rolls or other bites. Orange marmalade is traditionally bitter but also comes in sweet “American” versions. We prefer the sweeter variety for dipping, but feel free to choose the type that suit your tastes.
Ingredients:
1 cup orange marmalade
¼ cup rice vinegar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground cumin
Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
Salt, to taste (optional)
Instructions:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the marmalade, rice vinegar, cinnamon, and cumin until well combined.
Add crushed red pepper flakes and salt, to taste, if desired.
