Meatball Subs are a great quick and easy dinner recipe! These Meatball Subs are wrapped in foil and then toasted on the grill or over the campfire for a delicious warm sub with crunchy bread and melted cheese! These meatball subs use pre-made meatballs, pasta sauce and sliced cheese to create a delicious meatball sub that the entire family will enjoy. They are a quick and easy meal for a weeknight dinner on the grill.
Ingredients:
32 oz fully cooked frozen Italian meatballs thawed
24 oz Marinara Sauce
season with garlic and oregano, salt and pepper, to taste
8 slices provolone cheese
8 sub buns
top with fresh chopped parsley, if desired
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl mix together meatballs and marinara sauce. Season with the garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Spoon into sub buns. Top with a slice of provolone cheese.
Wrap each sub in heavy duty aluminum foil.
Place on a preheated grill over indirect heat or a campfire for 20-30 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted. Rotate half way through cooking. Sprinkle with a bit of fresh parsley and serve warm!
Tips:
These can also be made in an oven at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until meatballs or warmed through and cheese is melted.
