You don’t have to buy pumpkin pie spice mix! Use this recipe on how to make homemade pumpkin pie spice mix to make it at home using spices in your pantry. I never buy pumpkin pie spice at the store, because it is so easy to make it at home. Many holiday recipes call for pumpkin pie spice, so I mix up a small bottle of it to use for my baking. Then I can just dip in and pull out a teaspoon as needed. If you make a lot of pumpkin pie spice flavored recipes in the fall, you can make a double or triple batch of this recipe and store it in a mason jar.
Ingredients:
3 T ground cinnamon
2 t ground ginger
2 t ground nutmeg
1½ t ground allspice
1½ t ground cloves
Instructions:
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the ground cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves, ’til well blended.
Store your homemade pumpkin spice in an airtight container or spice jar that seals well. Then use as needed.
