
Creamy Bacon Orzo

This creamy orzo recipe is made with a white sauce of crispy bacon, caramelized onions, and salty parmesan cheese. Perfect as a side dish or light meal!
Ingredients:
1 lb orzo pasta
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 cup bacon pieces
1 small yellow onion, diced
2 T Butter
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Cook orzo pasta according to the package instructions. Dice the onions. In a deep skillet over medium heat, add the bacon and onion, cooking to caramelize them in a bit of butter until softened. When the bacon begins to crisp and the onions are soft, add the heavy whipping cream. Bring the mixture to a boil. Add the cooked orzo pasta into the skillet, followed by the parmesan cheese. Stir to combine and season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve immediately and enjoy!
